A space to practise facing difficult moments
What if we could practise before facing a difficult situation? That question is where Pravia began.
Maria Gorete Pereira Martins
Psychoanalyst and creator of Pravia
Why I created this space
In my professional experience, I have often seen people know what they would like to do, yet struggle when the moment arrives. Fear, anxiety, and insecurity can make avoidance feel like the easiest choice. I wanted to create a space where a person could explore another response before trying it in everyday life.
Practise before you face it
A difficult conversation, expressing an opinion, or saying no can be rehearsed. In Pravia, you can choose a level of challenge, try a response, and reflect on the experience. What did I expect? What happened in the simulation? What might I try differently?
The purpose is learning
The aim is not to promise a life without fear. It is to offer opportunities to explore how to respond when discomfort is present. You can repeat a practice, change the context, or choose a more manageable level. The next step belongs to you.
My responsibility
I developed this proposal through a dialogue between my professional experience, my studies, and scientific knowledge about exposure. Technology can support practice, but it must recognise its limits. Each person has a different history, and a simulation cannot replace individual professional attention.
One practice at a time. One experience at a time.
A practice tool with clear limits
Pravia does not diagnose, provide psychotherapy, or replace psychological or medical care. Seek qualified professional support for intense distress, significant crises, or traumatic experiences. You can pause or stop a practice at any time.
